daisy love

I often wonder what my Swedish experience would have been had it not been tainted by narcissistic abuse.

I arrived in Gothenburg on June 18th, 2012 just in time for midsummer celebrations. We were to be married, him and me, and start what was promised to be “a beautiful life”. But, over the next four and a half years, I discovered I was not living with someone who loved me, but instead a malignant narcissist who was hell-bent on my physical and psychological destruction.

I am not a therapist or psychologist. My background is in art, writing, and photography. I am not a life coach. I’m a lady who had bad things happen to her while living in a foreign country. The information you see here includes what I’ve researched or learned about NPD and narcissistic abuse recovery over the last five years.

2Boston4Love is the continuation of my story from the blog 2Sweden4Love that I started in 2012. I titled that blog as a testament to the life and love I anticipated in Sweden. I have since discontinued the site but I have included for you here some of the essays I wrote about Swedish culture, politics, and my life experience in that Nordic nation.

It was in Boston that I began the journey of recovery from narcissistic abuse. It was where I fled after having escaped my fiancé on New Year’s Eve 2016, and it is from this city of freedom where I write to you today.

While I have a solid body of photographic work from Boston and Sweden, the imagery you see on this website is not my own unless noted otherwise. I opted instead to use the work of talented photographers who share their images at pexels.com. You can see my personal photography portfolio at lisamikulski.com where I write about art and living a creative life.

This site is dedicated to my sons David and Kyler.

Thank you for reading.
